August Taffy Talk
It's Back-To-School time! Say "Good-bye!" to Summer and "Hello!" to a brand new school year! We all have some exciting days ahead! My friends and I have new teachers, new subjects, and new friends awaiting us. I'm sure you all do too! With all of the new, we need school stuff!
As we all pick up our lists for the supplies, and begin shopping for those new backpacks and folders, it popped in to my mind that we might need a few other items not found on that list. Those items can be found in the Bible.
In Galatians 5:22-23, it says that God is inside of us. The parts of Him that make Him God are at work deep inside of our hearts. His traits (or fruits) are actually there waiting on us to show them to the world. Those character traits are: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. This list is so awesome because sometimes I really have trouble with some kids and some teachers that make my life difficult. Now I know that God's power is inside of me when I have to deal with unlovable people. I not only possess Love, but I also have Joy and Peace. Those Fruits of God's Spirit will come in handy when I have to face a really hard test in Math. Self-Control will help me, along with Patience, when I have to deal with the kids who try to bully my little brother, Sam. Kindness and Faithfulness will help me to be a better friend. Gentleness and Goodness will show me how to help those kids who need understanding. All in all, I thank God that He is down deep within me helping me through this next school year. One thing is for sure. My backpack will not only have pencils and paper. It will also be full of the Fruits of the Spirit. I want to pack all of God's character and have it ready to use.
